Bommalattam is the upcomming movie by director Bharathiraja starring Arjun and Nana Patekar in the lead roles. The film is to be released in Hindi as Cinema and in Telugu as Kalidas. This will mark actor Arjun’s Bollywood debut while Nana Patekar will make his Tamil debut.

Nana Patekar, whom Bharathiraja considers a different actor, plays the lead role of a director in the film. The film will hit screens across Tamil Nadu on June 27th.

Popular actress Geneelia D’Souza was born on August 5 in England. Genelia is also known to people close to her as Harini. Her parents originally hail from Goa and later moved to England. After being born in England, Genelia studied at Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. After school, Geneelia joined the St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree.

The director of the ‘Maru Avadharam’ movie is K Balender. According to him, ‘Maru Avadharam’ is the story of the bond between a brother-sister and their affection. Action and romance also find place in the Maru Avadharam movie.

SUBRAMANIYAPURAM is director M Sasikumar’s movie, in every sense of the word. An assistant to Bala and Ameer, this is his first directorial venture.

He has also donned the role of a producer in the movie. And he also acts in it. A period movie, Subramaniapuram’s audio was launched on Friday amidst much fanfare.

“The year is special for Bala, Sasi and me: Bala’s Naan Kadavul, my Yogi and Sasi’s Subramaniyapuram are getting released,” said director Ameer, who released the audio. The movie will launch popular TV anchor James Vasanthan as a music director.

Director Simbhudevan had words of praise for the detailing that went into the movie, right from the invitation for the audio launch to the picturisation of the songs. “From the landmarks shown in the song to the posters in the backdrop, they all fit into the period that the movie belongs to,” he said. Others present at the event include Rama Narayanan, president, Producer’s Council, directors Vetrimaran and Gowtham Menon.

The movie introduces Jai of Chennai 600028-fame as the hero. Director Ameer, who has been vocal about the hardship of debutant directors in finding a hero, did make a mention of it again.

“Everybody knows how challenging it is for a new director to find a hero. The original hero for the movie opted out, and Sasi chose Jai. Sasi also acts in the movie,” he explained.

Ameer will also debut as a hero this year with Yogi. In a unique attempt, the director has come out with a special promotional video for the movie. The film is a love story set in Subramaniyapuram, a locality in Madurai. Jai is paired with Swati, a Ma TV host, in this movie. Their chemistry on the stage, be it while posing for lensmen together, or when they jointly received the audio, is sure to spill on screen as well. Shooting for the movie is complete, and it is expected to hit the screens by June.

Anthony- Yaar is an upcoming film being directed by C T Pandu where Shaam and Mallika Kapoor will play the lead roles. Dheena composes music for the film and Silambarasan had recently crooned a number ‘Mallalikottai Kannu’ for this film along with Anooradha Sriram. A huge lavish set has been erected in A V M Studios to can this song sequence when the lead pair had waltzed with much energy and vigor. The shooting of the film has been completed in various locales like Nagercoil, Muttom, Kulu, Manali etc. The theme of Anthony- Yaar is said to be centered on sea and the life associated with it. Prem Shankar, Pragathi and Rajesh are in the cast along with lead pair. Santonio wields the camera.
